Our Story

Nathan and Mary Metty met at Appalachian State University and enjoy life in Greensboro with their three children who they homeschool. Reading, exploring outside, playing games, raising chickens in the backyard, and spending lots of time with family and friends defines their days. They are also active members of their church and community, serving as leaders and mentors in the women's ministry and small groups. GT builders is a unique name with a unique history. George Thomas, Nathan and Mary's fourth child, was born in January 2022 with a very rare genetic disorder and lived a very full and vibrant five months. He spent most of his life in the loving care of his family and medical staff at Duke University Hospital, coming home for only a few days. He ultimately went home to be with his eternal Father on June 22, 2022. He is dearly loved and missed, and his legacy lives on with us in this business. We love sharing his story with all those we encounter.
